2 High-risk Impella Cases

Gregor Leibundgut

The first Cath Lab TV session featured two complex high-risk PCI cases using Impella support. A 77-year-old in cardiogenic shock underwent urgent PCI with rotational atherectomy, IVL, and high-pressure ballooning via distal radial and femoral access. An 85-year-old with distal left main trifurcation disease refused surgery and was treated with a complex two-stent “double T” strategy. Both cases highlight advanced techniques, mechanical support, and tailored care for challenging patients.
